Barlow #001

WDF WA-22-001
Orphaned Well Status: UNPLUGGED
Contacted by the landowner’s family, we have been able to bring this well into the program. The Barlow #001, located on Washington’s Olympic Peninsula near the Hoh Indian Reservation and the Olympic National Park, was drilled in 1964 near the turn-of-the-century town of Oil City, WA. We are preparing this well for plugging and restoration in 2023. [In 1964 lower Hoh River resident Mrs. Charles Barlow noted that “during gas rationing in W.W. II members of the Coast Guard stationed at Oil City at the foot of the trail to Hoh Head sometimes reported using oil from that well in their jeeps. It worked—very smokily.” (Forks Forum 1964, 28 May)]

Plugging these wells is essential to protecting our planet and the impact is immediateDonate to Well Done Foundation and help us fight climate change.
