Supreme Court won’t block – for now – Biden limits on methane emissions from oil and gas industry

The Supreme Court recently allowed two key environmental regulations from the Biden administration to remain in effect. One rule targets methane emissions from oil and gas facilities, a significant contributor to climate change, and the other tightens mercury emissions from power plants. Several states and industry groups opposed the rules, arguing they were overly strict. However, the court declined to block them for now, and the regulations are part of broader efforts to address climate change.  You may see the methane reduction ruling article here which includes Curtis Shuck from our foundation.
